November 26, 2010, This day started out to be a little rushed as we wanted to get out to do some shopping for those "Black Friday deals." We sat the alarm for 6 a.m. got up and had Cinnamon rolls for breakfast and ran out the door. With My hubby and 17 yr. old daughter in toe we began our search for that great deal i believe we started at Target where we obtained our energy at Starbuck's and after that hit four more stores. We arrived at Best Buy at about 7:45 a.m. and my eyes started flipping like a channel on t.v. and the next thing i remember was waking up in an ambulance with a EMT trying to get an I.V in my arm and my daughter in the front seat of the ambulance scared to death. Apparently i had a seizure and my daughter caught me, stopping me from falling to the ground and yelled to her dad and they tried to keep me from choking and got someone to call 911. Before arriving at the hospital the Emt told me that my bloodsugar was only 59 after the seizure, so we were all thinking it was low bloodsugar. Once at the hospital they took a Catscan and some blood work, and didnt really find anything that could have caused the seizure. So i was sent home with some pain meds for the pain that i had on only the left side of my body and told me to see my own doctor.
November 29,2010~ Got into to see the nurse practioner and she really didnt know very much about what was going on. She referred me to a Neurologist, so on to make an appointment with him.
Decmber 6, 2010~ My first appointment with the Neurologist, this consisted of me answering tons of questions about my family history and what i saw during my seizure. And then he informed me that he was going to do three tests one of which would be a MRI w/ contrast and two EEG's so we started the fun of scheduling these appointments. Oh and the great thing about all this the doctor told me i can't drive until i get the results of all three tests.
Scheduled the MRI for the evening of the 15th of December, Thought everything was fine until they placed me insdie the tube and i had a panic attack. So she couldnt finish the test and the open MRI is only on site on Sundays so once again i had to wait and make sure i had a ride there. In the mean time i had an appointment for the EEG on the 21st at 8am. That went pretty well, seemed to go well. On December 26th i got in on a cancellation to the open MRI and they drugged me ahead of time so that went well.
Jan.3, 2011 received a letter from the doctor stating that the EEG was normal, But that he still wanted me to have a second one. And the following day i got another letter stating that the MRI was also normal. So onto the second EEG which is scheduled for tomorrow morning! Mind you during all this time i havent been aloud to drive. Which in this family means that my daughter can no longer work during the week and i cant take care of grocery shopping or mailing anything. So as my title says i have been "trapped at home" for almost two months!!
